Broken Steel is was broken.

Very disappointing. I’ve been playing Fallout 3 over the weekend getting a new character through the last paces towards the end so that I can jump onto the new chapter of the story, Broken Steel which is meant to be released today. I say meant to be released, but it IS released, I’ve paid for it and it seems things have gone a touch awry.

The download for the DLC on the PC gets most of the way through then stops saying it “can’t install item” and goes on about cryptographic messages. Apparently someone is working on it, hopefully it’s fixed soon. Looking forward to spending more time in the wastes.


UPDATE: Seems it’s a problem on Microsoft’s end. They’ve reassuringly gone ahead and removed it from the Games for Windows Live Marketplace. Sigh.

UPDATE OF UPDATE: All back and working. Have played a chunk of it and it was well worth the wait so far, this game never ceases to amaze me.

    Ive completed fallout 3 5 times, got maximum G for it. I probably wont by Brocken Steel to be honest, im saving my money.

    Did you grab The Pitt and Operation Anchorage, Ash?

    They were fairly enjoyable, although The Pitt was quite short as I blasted through the main story.

    Plenty of gamerpoints still up for grabs with the new DLC if that sort of thing tempts you in.

    Aaw… I got FO3 too, but on PS3.
    I hate that there are no things like “The Anchorage”, “The Pitt” or “Broken Steel” for PS3… :<

    Ya I got anchorage and the pitt, the pitt took me less than an hour and anchorage was ok I guess. Im saving my money for left 4 dead, im finally getting it this weekend.

    I jus twant to say your games are great, ive played alot of flash games for a while now, and I can honestly say you are the one developer I fallow, as every single one youve made or assisted in I have loved.

    I knew Broken Steel wouldn’t be let down. I want to get it but probably won’t, event though its continuing the epic story. Too bad….:(

    It dont really understand it, I choose the good path so my charchter died putting the code in at the end (easy to figure out). So how does he suddenley come back to life?!?!?

    i have beaten fallout 3 once but havent got any downloads like the pitt or anchorage.but i am looking forward to getting them.but is there gonna be a last stand 3?

    I love Fallout! But I am a PS3 owner so I can’t get those extra things… yet…

    broken steel doesnt work on pc cause a stupid drm issue, very angry :(

    I have completed every mission except for Strictly Buisness because I had to kill everyone at Paradise Falls. I could be within the top 10 world’s biggest Fallout nerds, because I also beat Strictly Buisness using a different character, I have both T-51b power armor suits (my follower Star Paladin Cross wears the winterized) I have every good perk (lvl. 30) And I have gotten almost every single Achievment. (Most that I didn’t get is because I have Fallout 3 for PC and Xbox 360 so I haven’t done everything again).

    hey con,
    i play fallout to and i like it very much,
    but broken steel sucks!
    Well it supposed to be cool, but it wont work.
    When im done with the normal fallout and then you revive in that room i cant do anything!
    i can move around but cant get out of room because the door is locked, and the man who is coming in to speak with you, !!! i cant speak with him.
    So i changed it by the store fore another one and that 1 was exactly same problem!!

    for fallout 3, the best armour issum kind of medic power armour, it is the only1 of its kind and it is within an abandoned city flooded with deathclaws :S

    fallout… one of the best games there is.
    just 1 problem, the game has a BIG number of bugs, espicially on windows vista,¨.

    have won it 3-5 times, but i havent downoaded broken steel.
    my friend have it but now the only thing i got is a mac :S

    how many has found the alien blaster? (dont now its name)
