Taking it to the streets. Yes, your hero has been let out of the apartment. Not much new here, just the ability to move in and out and between buildings as well as a few bug fixes. Only two buildings are accessible at the moment. There is some interesting new stuff under the hood though, but I don’t have time to explain right now though, will dig into that next week.



Controls (because people asked for them):


A,D - Left / Right
W - Jump
S - Crouch
R - Reload
F - Flashlight
E - Activate
Tab, B, I - Open inventory
C - Open Character sheet



New Feedback / Bug Report Forms!

Use the links at the bottom of the game page for your feedbacking and bug reporting needs. It was just getting too hard to track stuff and deal with the volume of reports coming through the comments. So hit them up in future to make sure I hear about that flipping torso for the 5,000,000th time!

Show Down!

Warfare 1944 has been nominated for “Most Epic Battle Scene” in the Nickelodeon / Addicting Games Show Down. It’s a showcase of online games and I’m lucky enough to have been nominated. So hit the site and vote for Warfare 1944 today!

The awards will air on Nickelodeon on June 19th so get your votes in quick!

New alpha! I’ll keep it brief and run down what’s new. First though, please read the notes below, the Fact Sheet and my FAQ’s at the top of the page if you have any questions. I can’t tell you how much time I waste every day reading / answering / deleting the same questions over and over in comments.


Character Sheet
- Character screen that shows attributes and skills
- Character levelling, it was happening behind the scenes but now it’s up front
- Open and close using the button or the “C” key
- Empty boxes on this screen will have icons eventually
- Hunger and Sleep are in and degrading, they don’t affect attributes yet though
- You can’t sleep yet, need to build in sleep spot mechanics

General
- Game saves world time now
- Food and Book items are now usable
- New shortcuts for Inventory “I” and “B” keys
- ESC key closes all dialogs
- XP is given for a number of tasks, reloading, searching etc.
- Search XP will only be given the first time you open a container.

Options
- Open by hitting “ESC” or the cog icon in the top right
- Loads of visual options for those suffering low frame rates
- AZERTY keyboard option is available (please test and give feedback)
- Options to turn off XP and Damage text
- Options to change decal (bullet holes etc) and body fade times

Visual Stuff
- Added film grain effect (can turn off in options)
- Added low quality variation of flashlight for older computers

Console Commands
- Hit tilde (~) to open the console
- Type in command and hit enter
- showfps shows frame rate
- resetInventory deletes inventory completely
- newCharacter resets character to level 1
- levelUp puts your character up a level
- fullHealth restores health

TESTING NOTES:
- The game is in “endless” search mode for testing only.
- Boxes repopulate, items will not be gone in the final version unless you take them.
- Boxes have set items that are always there, then lucky / skill finds are added
- Ammo resupplies when you refresh the browser

Known Issues:
- Some character / zombie sliding when climbing over boxes etc.
- Zombies get stuck climbing boxes
- Zombies can be shoved through walls / boxes
- Deleted weapons stay equipped
- Some weapons have no sound (not a bug, just not implemented)
- Some weapons / items have incorrect descriptions / weights
- Zombies on ground killed play standing death animations
- Reload XP exploits
- Search XP exploits
- Deleting clothing equips it
- Body becomes disjointed when tapping crouch
