If we are talking about finding smg’s in an urban setting, you cant go wrong with any HK smg. MP-5 defines submachine gun.

UMP45 – Ive actually fired it and ive fired the mp5, in my opinion the UMP45 is better, less recoil, making it far more accurate.

For the love of god people think realistically, where the hell would you find these old ww2 and ww1 weapons your suggesting? And guns like the PPsh just chew ammo up, and your in a freakin apocolypse where ammo is limited.

Although it has already been said numerous times, I do highly suggest adding the MP5 series if you have not already contemplated on it.

There are many different versions to choose from, ones including suppressors (MP5 SD5 and MP5 SD6) and different types of stocks which could affect weight and recoil if you have those in effect. There is also a version named the MP5k which is a MP5 with a shortened barrel. It would have less weight than a MP5, shorter draw time, but significantly more recoil.

No mattter WHAT! you have to include a UZI. That thing woops @$$! Adding the mp5 would be cool too. Think it takes .32 bullets though…TMP! The TMP is small and is reliable. It could easily be a back up weapon to chop through a zombi or 2. Searching for ammo type…ITS 9MM WOOT!

Although it is a bit old, I think a really unique weapon to consider is the Mauser C96. It’s WW2-era pistol, semi-automatic, but it also doubles as an SMG once you put a rifle butt on it. the only problem is that only the chinese-contracted version of it is .45 ACP. I think it’s something REALLY unique, although it’s a bit outclassed by these MAC-10′s and MP5′s and whatnot.

A Thompson would be a great addition. I assume you’re keeping the Uzi and UMP from previous games as well. The Sterling SMG looks cool and has a large magazine, and the Skorpion would be a welcome addition to close combat. The Kriss Super V is the only developmental model I can think of that might add anything interesting.

To me there is no better gun here then the Spectre SMG!

Just looked on the internet, found a very interesting SMG which was supposedly based on the M16, but is still an SMG. It’s called the Colt 9mm SMG. Its still used in counter-terrorist forces today, so it could be found on Soldier zombies or corpses. By the way, are corpses going to be searchable? Because it would make it a lot more realistic than just finding an assault rifle in a kitchen cabinet.

As for my suggestion, might I suggest the SKL-41. It’s a modified PPsh-41 that is made by Germans to accept 9mm Parabellum ammo. Large clip (71 rounds with a drum magazine, 35 rounds with a standard clip) with small firing power but huge rate of fire.

Either way, you can’t have a game with firepower and at least not put one or two russian weapons in the game. Don’t forget, Russian gangsters live in the states.

P.S. Con, I drove by Union City Indiana today. Tried to get you a pic of the sign but my phone went crazy as I drove by (was on my way home from long road trip so I couldn’t turn around).

Needless to say, I was debating whether to go into town and hunt for zombies or to just drive on by.

I would suggest the Mini-Uzi (9MM) because it’s so recognizable so you’ll have more attention towards it. Also some of those call of duty guns (of course like above the Mini-Uzi) but like the Vector (45) and UMP45 (45).

Some more different ones you could put in are the MP7 (whoops, not a 9mm or 45), TMP (9mm) and maybe the the Spectre M-4 ( like ehw said). It uses the 9mm, and it also looks freaking awesome.

So I think the Vector is a valid idea; it’s modern, it’s commercially available (I think law enforcement guys are starting to pick it up now), and its only appearance has been in one game so far, so it’s normal for people to refer to it as a popular reference. The mean rate of fire (1000rpm) might be a turn off, though.

Something off the beaten path- The M1 or M2 carbine.

If there’s a .357 revolver again, you could ‘double up’ on the ammo, similar to the various 7.62s being a single item.

The M2 is more of a true SMG, but the M1 is far more iconic.

Good point, and I guess people don’t really play these sort of games looking for massive amount of realism. My bad with the kriss, I looked into it after and it IS available for law enforcement agencies. I just got pissed off that all people were suggesting were call of duty guns, which in themselves don’t make much sense.

If possible ,a sniper tower could be included in some of the maps ,so the main charachter can go on the top or put a survivor there.Think about it. It can be made also a slow motion effect for the good headshots like in the matrix for example.The traps could be not only bear trap but also a net or hidden big holes.The hero can find a small shovel and cn make for example 3 or 4 holes .

You can include some automtic shotgun .It will destroy anything on it’s path

It can also be included swiss crossbow ( twinbow) with great accuracy but reloading slowly
